Īss ieskats bērnu literatūras apbalvošanas fenomenā un Astrīdas Lindgrēnes piemiņas balvas (ALMA) specifikā. ALMA Latvijas grāmatizdošanas kontekstā
2021

2020
When describing the figures of saints, Eliza Piotrowska follows the order set by hagiography. However, it does not mean the reproduction of the cultural stereotype of a saint to which we have been accustomed by religious literature and folklore. We will find many images and motifs transferred from fictionalised biographies of “wondrous children.” Bearing in mind the small audience, she replaces seriousness with humour, which dominates all levels of the text. The author is not afraid to juxtapose book protagonists with contemporary children, which she also illustrates herself. She reaches for anecdotes, jokes, aphorisms, and different points of view. The author’s narrative and graphic skills…
2016
[EN] The family is the foundation and unifying force of children’s education. New family models have emerged in the last decades including single-parent, homosexual, and multicultural families. If this is an everyday reality, why not show it in the Spanish as a foreign language class through literature? We propose using picture books and the power of both images and words to teach children not only linguistic competence but also emotional intelligence. El día de la rana roja is chosen to illustrate how to teach Spanish as a foreign language through the story of two princes that is full of symbolism and readaptations of traditional topoi. It is an all-embracing, optimistic, and accepting sto…
Family and Affective Models in Children's Literature. An Approach from the Texts for Early Readers at Valencian Schools
2015
Abstract In previous researches we have offered a panoramic view about the presence of family structures different from the traditional one in children's literature, (Oltra Albiach, 2011), about the (shy) presence of protagonists with homo-parent, single- parent families reconstructed or intercultural in children's titles and about the publications of these characteristics in the literature for first readers that have seen the light in recent years (Oltra Albiach & Pardo Coy, 2013). It is noted that the introduction of these literatures in initial schools remains in general a pending matter, especially if we take into account that it is an ideal level to prevent and treat stereotypes and pr…
THE ADVANTAGES OF FLIPPED LEARNING MODEL: AN OPPORTUNITY TO INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGY IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE
2016
Studying children’s literature involves questioning how fantasy and representations of childhood relate to cultural contexts and a specific target audience. In an age of technology and online media, this program teaches students how to encourage young people to appreciate literature's heritage. This research examines how using the flipped classroom model provides opportunities to design and deliver courses using active learning and engagement strategies to facilitate students’ teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking skills in a collegial environment. The aims of research are: to familiarise with some of the themes and ideas explored in a selection of literature for children from the…

SULLA FIABA E SULLA LETTERATURA PER L'INFANZIA A PROPOSITO DI ALCUNI LIBRI
2023

Z Wadowic do nieba. Postać Jana Pawła II w biografiach i biografijkach dla dzieci i młodzieży
2016
Books about John Paul II aimed at the young reader were published even during the Pope's lifetime. However, their number increased rapidly after his canonization in 2014. Authors and publishers of such books presentthe image of Karol Wojtyła as a model of life and humanity based on love, goodness, honesty, and tolerance. This model is close to the Church's teachings and the educational standard that was used across many centuries. A real-life example has a much better chance to appeal to the child, as it shows that it is actually possible to follow said model. The authors attempt to depict the whole life of the Pope from his childhood and youth to his pastorał work, pontificate, and death. …
